beautiful views as this aircraft completes an approach in greenland

One of the most beautiful approaches ever

Flying has many perks.  From the feeling of complete freedom on a solo flight to the ability to get form point to point in a hurry, but one of my favorite things about flying is the views.  In commercial passenger flights, passengers often miss out on the breathtaking vistas that the pilots enjoy to themselves.  Like selfish friends or siblings, pilots horde the views to themselves.

But thanks to modern advances in cameras, we’re starting to see more and more of the beautiful scenery before only experienced by the crew up front.

Like this approach in to Maniitsoq, Greenland.  The scene looks to come straight out of a children’s fantasy book with fluffy snowbanks and a warm city out to the side as the plane approaches on to the airport sitting at the edge of water.

If you decide to go, bring your own de-icing as the airport doesn’t have any on-site!
